Warner EOS currently serves about 330 students in grades Pre-K through 4. As an Enhanced Option School, we offer our students reduced class sizes and an additional 45 minutes of instruction each day. We also house an ENCORE teacher who meets with gifted children from several schools. When she is not working with gifted students, our ENCORE teacher works with our higher performing students on higher order thinking skills.

Warner has been awarded The Reading First Grant.   This grant provides a literacy leader who is responsible for organizing staff development for the entire school on the elements of a balanced literacy program. Special emphasis is placed on K-3 teachers. This program assists those students who are not at grade level in reading by monitoring their progress every two weeks and by providing intervention programs as necessary.

Warner EOS also receives Title I funds. These funds provide the salaries for a full time teacher to provide extra support in math and work with families.  Our Title I resources help us provide intervention, reduced class sizes, and materials to improve student achievement.

Warner School also has a reading specialist who provides guided reading instruction and remediation to small groups of children and oversees the implementation of the required local assessments.

Our library continues to be a source of curriculum enrichment for all students, with books available for checkout and activities for project-based learning.  Computers are now available in every classroom and in the Media Center for student and teacher use. A computer lab with seventeen computers is used for educational software use, assessment, and research. We are continuing to upgrade our technology, ensuring that Warner is in compliance with MNPS technology goals and standards.

Currently, a resource teacher and several part-time specialists provide special education services. A CBIP class is provided for children who need full-time support. Some additional services available to our special needs children are speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. We offer resource services that range from consultation or inclusion within a regular classroom, to special classes where small groups of children receive instruction in their areas of need.

Students at Warner EOS take part in music, art, or physical education classes each day.

Warner EOS has a wonderful before- and after-school care program run by The McNeilly Center for Children. Students can arrive at McNeilly at 6:00 a.m. and are supervised after school until 6:00 p.m.
